Peer Gynt’s return to Welshpool in April was a very happy occasion, for cast and audiences, which came in large numbers over three nights to see the first production which brought together both senior and intermediate groups. The youth theatre rounded off its busy year with a successful tour of The Masque of Deception. Cathryn, Amy, Chloe, Tom, Ffion, Harriet and Jacob worked on this adaptation of some of the short stories of Edgar Allan Poe, which Ginny had scripted. This dark, atmospheric piece of theatre was toured to Hirnant, Llandinam, Montgomery and Welshpool, with full houses of very appreciative audiences at the three smaller venues, and an even larger one (in numbers) at Theatr Clera.
